Two independent artists Alberto Sanchez and Mark Venice have come together to explore the potential of collaborative art.
With a shared vision they create artworks through a highly unique and creative partnership. Starting with a conversation (and lots of coffee) they share concepts and ideas. Alberto and Mark use a mix of traditional and contemporary techniques. Either one may start on a piece and the other will add or subtract from it. The pair take turns blending Alberto’s experience in photography and painting with Mark’s flair for colour, painting and digital visual. The collaborative works transcend ‘individuals’ and mesh the analogue and digital worlds.

Spanish / Australian Alberto Sánchez is a photographer and multimedia artist based between Byron Bay, Australia, and Asturias, Spain. Sánchez prints, hacks and re-invents his own photographs using a unique hand colouring technique, creating his own form of magic realism where photographic documentary is meshed with improbable landscapes. Sanchez’ work is simultaneously an inquiry into the nature and essence of how we perceive the world we live in. His aim is to challenge our perception in order to question our relationship with space and time. By using expressive colours and dynamic brush strokes he transforms the obvious and invites us into his parallel landscapes.
